Free Fire Beginner’s Guide: How to Play and Survive
Hello everyone, how are you doing? I hope you are doing really, really well.
Today I’m bringing you a new Free Fire video in which I’m going to make a kind of guide for beginners or new players in this game.
So, if you are new to Free Fire, or you have already been playing for some time but want to improve and learn more about the game, this video is for you. Let’s get started.
Starting a Classic Match
We are going to start a classic match on the Bermuda map. This is a map that I really love.
Once we press start, the game sends us to the loading lobby. There is nothing important that you need to do in this lobby. We simply have to stay there and wait.
This is the waiting lobby, where all the players connect to the match and the other players are matched together. You can run around or stay still. It is not really necessary to do anything here because it is simply the waiting lobby.
The lobby can also change depending on the events and new features available in the game. In this case, we have this lobby where we can even change our clothes.
The only thing we have to do is wait for all the players to connect to the match.
Once the lobby timer ends, we are taken directly to the airplane. From there, we have to jump somewhere on the map.
If you are a beginner or a new player, I recommend that you do not land in places such as Clock Tower, Biomasa, Strip, or Factory. These are areas where many players usually go, so it is very likely that you will die quickly.
Choosing a Landing Location
The blue zone is the area with the most loot. This means it has the best weapons and a large amount of equipment.
If you want to get a lot of loot quickly, you can go to the blue zone. However, I recommend avoiding it if you are a beginner because many players go there.
In this case, I’m going to land in a more isolated area. It is an island where not many people go, so it is quite peaceful. I like going there when I want to explain the game.
The Main Objective of Free Fire
Basically, the game is about surviving, finding weapons, and eliminating the other enemies.
It is similar to The Hunger Games. Around 40 or 50 people land on an island, and they have to survive while eliminating the other players.
You can also play in Duo, with two people, or in Squad, as a team. But in this case, we are playing Solo, so it is everyone against everyone.
Once we land, the first thing we have to do is loot, which means searching for weapons and equipment.
Understanding Weapons
In this case, I found a weapon for long-range combat.
How do you know when a weapon is a long-range weapon?
You can go into your backpack and check the ammunition the weapon uses. Long-range weapons use AR ammunition.
So, if you pick up a weapon that uses AR bullets, it is a long-range weapon. You should use it to eliminate enemies who are far away.
It is always a good idea to have one long-range weapon and one short-range weapon. This gives you two different options.
If an enemy is far away, you can use your long-range weapon. If an enemy is close, you can use your short-range weapon.
Here I found one of my favorite weapons, the MP40. This is a short-range weapon because it uses SMG ammunition.
Shotguns are another short-range option, and they can also be a very good choice.
The important thing to remember is that you should have one long-range weapon and another short-range weapon.
The Safe Zone and the Storm
The basic idea of Free Fire is to survive, find weapons, and eliminate enemies whenever you encounter them.
But there are other important things you need to understand.
At the top of the screen, you can see a message telling us when the safe zone will appear.
The safe zone is the area where you are protected from the storm.
You may be wondering what happens outside the safe zone.
Outside the safe zone, a storm advances across the map. If you are outside the safe zone and remain in contact with the storm, you will continuously lose health until you are eliminated.
That is why you should always be moving toward the safe zone.
While playing, you should loot houses, search for equipment, and try to eliminate anyone you encounter.
Melee Weapons
Another important thing you should always have is a melee weapon.
For example, you can find a frying pan, a bat, or a machete.
It is recommended to always have one of these weapons available because they can help protect you from bullets. A frying pan can work like a shield because bullets can hit it and bounce off.
So whenever you find a frying pan, machete, bat, or another melee weapon, it is a good idea to pick it up.
Always Carry Medkits
Another essential thing you need to know about the game is that you should carry plenty of medkits.
Try to pick up every medkit you find because they are extremely important for survival.
At the bottom of the screen, you can see your HP bar. In this case, it shows 200 out of 200 health.
When enemies shoot you, your health decreases. That is why you should always have at least four medkits in your backpack so you can heal yourself when necessary.
Having medkits is extremely important.
Vending Machines
Now I’m going to explain something else.
Sometimes you will find vending machines around the map.
You may be wondering what these machines are for.
These machines allow you to exchange coins that you can find around the map.
When you approach one, you can press the option to buy something. You can purchase weapons, backpacks, and other equipment.
They are a very useful tool because if you do not have a backpack, helmet, or another item, you may be able to find it easily through these machines.
For example, I’m going to buy a helmet because I need one.
The good thing is that the coins can also be found quite easily inside houses or lying around the map. This can be a good way to obtain ammunition and equipment.
Stay Inside the Safe Zone
If we open the map, we can see the entire safe-zone circle.
If we stay inside this circle, we are safe from the storm.
Right now, I am outside the safe zone, and you can see the storm approaching.
You should always try to stay inside the safe zone.
As the safe zone begins to shrink, you have to move as quickly as possible. If you remain inside the storm, you will continue losing health until you are eliminated.
The safe zone will continue getting smaller throughout the match.
As it becomes smaller, players will be forced to fight each other more often.
Eventually, the safe zone can become extremely small, and players will have to face each other directly.
That is one of the most intense parts of the match, so you need good weapons and enough ammunition to survive.
Improve Your Helmet and Vest
You can also find special boxes that can improve your vest and helmet.
Whenever you find these items, make sure to use them if you already have a vest or helmet because they can improve your equipment.
This is another important thing to keep in mind.
Understanding the Number of Players
At the top right of the screen, you can see how many players are still alive.
In this case, there are only a few players remaining.
There is also a red section that shows the number of players you have eliminated.
If you eliminate more players, the number will appear there.
How Beginners Should Move
Here is another tip for beginners.
When you are running, it is better to use your frying pan or your fists.
If you run while holding a weapon, you may move more slowly. It can also make you easier to eliminate.
So, try running with the frying pan in your hand.
You should also try to run and jump at the same time.
This is important because if someone shoots at you while you are jumping, it can be less likely that they will deal as much damage.
So always try to run and jump at the same time.
Avoid Unnecessary Fights
As the match progresses, the safe zone becomes smaller and the storm moves faster.
The storm can also take more health as the safe zone becomes smaller.
That means you cannot simply stay outside the safe zone. You should always stay inside it.
Another piece of advice for new players is to avoid looking for fights.
If you are still learning how to play, do not immediately run toward areas where people are shooting.
Try to stay calm and survive until the final moments.
When there are fewer places to hide and the safe zone becomes very small, that is when you will have to fight.
Until then, you can take your time, loot, and continue playing carefully.
Fighting at Long Range
At this point, there is someone shooting at me from behind.
I’m going to use my long-range weapon to attack.
Since the enemy is far away, I use the AK-47.
Because the AK-47 is a long-range weapon, it uses AR ammunition, which is why I decided to use it against an enemy at a distance.
After eliminating the enemy, the counter shows that I have eliminated one player.
I also find more medkits, so I’m going to pick them up.
As I mentioned earlier, it is always recommended to carry as many medkits as possible.
I recommend having around four or five medkits. Try not to have fewer than four because that is a very small amount.
Drones and Mushrooms
There is also a yellow drone flying above me.
Its function is to show where players are located.
The drone moves around the area, and if it marks a red point, it means that there is someone there.
In this case, the drone passed above me without marking anyone, so there does not appear to be anyone nearby.
Another important thing is to eat the mushrooms you find.
They are very useful because when you eat them, the yellow bar below your health begins to fill up.
This yellow bar works like an extra shield for your health.
So whenever you find mushrooms, try to eat them.
Airdrops
You may also see these objects with a yellow lightning symbol.
These are airdrops.
Airdrops can give you different things, such as ammunition, helmets, and other equipment.
They can also give you a special item that allows you to deploy a drone.
This drone can help show where other players are located.
Fighting at Close Range
Now we have another player nearby.
I’m going to try to approach them and eliminate them using the MP40, which is a short-range weapon.
Since the enemy moves farther away, I switch to the AK-47.
The enemy starts using gloo walls to protect themselves.
If you have grenades, you can also use them against enemies who are hiding behind cover.
After several attempts, the enemy gets close enough for me to use the SMG.
I hit the enemy in the chest, and although it was a difficult moment, we manage to eliminate them.
Now the counter shows that I have eliminated two players and that only three survivors remain on the map.
The Final Moments
There are only a few players left.
Someone is shooting at me from a distance, so I use the AK-47 again.
I aim at the enemy, but I am attacked from behind.
Unfortunately, I am eliminated.
But this is basically how the game works.
The basics are surviving, finding weapons, and trying to eliminate other players.
If you are a beginner, I recommend waiting until the later stages of the match before looking for fights.
During the first five or ten minutes of the match, focus mainly on looting because that is one of the most important things.
The Best Strategy for Beginners
We were able to eliminate two enemies and make it to the final part of the match.
The reason we survived for so long was because, at the beginning of the match, we stayed away from other players and landed in isolated locations.
We focused on finding weapons, ammunition, and equipment instead of immediately looking for fights.
That is what I recommend if you are a beginner.
Land in isolated areas, take your time, find weapons, and play calmly.
Go slowly but safely.
Once there are very few players remaining and the safe zone becomes very small, that is when you should go out and fight.
At that point, give it everything you have.
Final Tips
That is basically how Free Fire works.
It is similar to The Hunger Games: you have to survive, eliminate other players, find weapons, and stay alive until the end.
